"UMTV was an essential part of my major. I simply cannot image what I would have “learned” without the real-world, real-life experience of producing a newscast every week. There is simply no other way to learn, but by doing. And working alongside professors who worked in the field for years and can tell you what you’re doing wrong and right just like your producer and news director will do. While I was at UM I had the opportunity to work on broadcasting two breaking stories – September 11th and Operation Shock & Awe in Iraq. What other college students could say that?"
