Join UMTV

Any full-time student may volunteer to work for UMTV. No experience is necessary and all majors are welcome!

Producers, writers, directors and on-air talent are needed along with both studio and field production crews. UMTV also offers experience in marketing, development and sales with our Promotions, Fundraising and Underwriting committees.

Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and should attend the initial meeting at the beginning of each semester.

Students who have volunteered in previous semesters may apply to become a mentor and/or member of the UMTV executive board.

UMTV Mentorship Program Application
Mentors assist new members in learning the mechanics of storytelling, operating cameras, using studio equipment, producing a show and more.

Mentors have a mentee shadow at least twice a month/bi-weekly; work with a mentee on short- and long-term goals during the semester; and meet up monthly for chats and bonding activities.
