From the U to You: Journeys of UMTV Journalists
Since the creation of “Cable 51” in 1984, thousands of students have been involved in various UMTV productions – and many of them have used the experience gained lessons learned at school to launch successful TV and media careers. Through in-depth interviews, some of those alums share their journeys from campus studios to professional sets, offering valuable advice, insights, and inspiration for today’s students. Whether you’re a current or future broadcaster, producer, or media creative, this series provides a behind-the-scenes look at how UMTV students turned their passion into thriving careers.

Support UMTV
Many UMTV alumni, parents, viewers and other friends have chosen to make gifts to UMTV to support the students and their award-winning programming. Gifts to UMTV enable the purchase of new and upgraded equipment and sets for the broadcast studios, training and certification for faculty and staff, submission of student work for awards and more.
Donors can contribute through one-time payments or pledge recurring payments over time. Gifts can be made online via University of Miami Development and Alumni Relations department. Select “School of Communication UMTV Fund” as the designation.
