Hometown Heroes | Spring 2026 Edition

On this UMTV Special Presentation, we introduce you to some people and organizations in South Florida that work tirelessly for the wellbeing of their community and others. Reporters Taryn Jacobs, Brian Matute, Ximena Hidalgo, Shea McDonald, Wrigley Kordt, Johnny Mustion, and Hannah Mackie highlight powerful stories of hometown heroes who through personal sacrifice are making an extraordinary difference. From rising above one’s unimaginable loss to make sure no other person suffers from it, to creating and operating ventures that feed and clothe the less fortunate, to empowering young people and providing them with growth opportunities, to stepping up and rebuilding hurricane-torn areas, these remarkable individuals are working tirelessly to uplift their neighbors and transform their communities for the better.
